Watching Eyes: an interactive 3D cursor template
Five glossy eyeballs that follow the cursor anywhere on the page, each with its own lag, and blink on their own.
Try it: Move anywhere · click to make them all blink. Open the live Watching Eyes full screen.
Where the Watching Eyes works best
Playful 404 pages, waitlist screens, agency about pages and kids’ products: anywhere a little character makes visitors smile.
How it is built
Each eyeball carries a canvas-painted iris and turns toward a point projected from the cursor with its own easing, while hemisphere eyelids rotate to blink on random timers. The whole effect is plain three.js in one module script. It renders only while it is on screen and caps the pixel ratio on high-density displays to protect performance.
Add it to your website
- Add a Code, Embed or Custom HTML block where the effect should sit (Webflow, Framer, WordPress, GoHighLevel, Shopify or plain HTML).
- Paste the snippet. It is one element and one script; three.js loads from a CDN.
- Edit the colours and words in the settings block, then publish.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Watching Eyes template free?
Yes. Anyone can open it live and copy the snippet.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. On touch screens it runs a gentle automatic motion so the scene is never still, and taps trigger the click interaction.
Do I need Spline or three.js experience?
No. It is one HTML element and one module script. Colours, text and images live in a settings block at the top.
