Plasma Orb: an interactive 3D cursor template
A plasma ball whose crackling bolts reach for the cursor wherever it touches the glass.
Try it: Touch the glass · click to discharge. Open the live Plasma Orb full screen.
Where the Plasma Orb works best
Energy, electronics, AI and science brands, and dramatic product reveals.
How it is built
Jagged polylines are regenerated twenty-four times a second; with the cursor on the glass, most bolts bend to meet it, just like a fingertip on a plasma ball. The whole effect is plain three.js in one module script. It renders only while it is on screen and caps the pixel ratio on high-density displays to protect performance.
Add it to your website
- Add a Code, Embed or Custom HTML block where the effect should sit (Webflow, Framer, WordPress, GoHighLevel, Shopify or plain HTML).
- Paste the snippet. It is one element and one script; three.js loads from a CDN.
- Edit the colours and words in the settings block, then publish.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Plasma Orb template free?
Anyone can open it live and try the interaction. Copying the code is included with a Scrollhaus plan.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. On touch screens it runs a gentle automatic motion so the scene is never still, and taps trigger the click interaction.
Do I need Spline or three.js experience?
No. It is one HTML element and one module script. Colours, text and images live in a settings block at the top.
