Rainy Window: an interactive 3D cursor template
Rain runs down a misted window; the cursor wipes the fog away to reveal the city lights behind.
Try it: Wipe the fogged glass · click to clear it. Open the live Rainy Window full screen.
Where the Rainy Window works best
Cosy, weather-led and seasonal campaigns, coffee shops, bookstores, and moody portfolio intros.
How it is built
Raindrops slide down a refractive pane, and a canvas fog mask is cleared where the cursor wipes it and slowly mists back over. The whole effect is plain three.js in one module script. It renders only while it is on screen and caps the pixel ratio on high-density displays to protect performance.
Add it to your website
- Add a Code, Embed or Custom HTML block where the effect should sit (Webflow, Framer, WordPress, GoHighLevel, Shopify or plain HTML).
- Paste the snippet. It is one element and one script; three.js loads from a CDN.
- Edit the colours and words in the settings block, then publish.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Rainy Window template free?
Anyone can open it live and try the interaction. Copying the code is included with a Scrollhaus plan.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. On touch screens it runs a gentle automatic motion so the scene is never still, and taps trigger the click interaction.
Do I need Spline or three.js experience?
No. It is one HTML element and one module script. Colours, text and images live in a settings block at the top.
